About Me:
This is my third year at Mary E. Phillips High School, I have been teaching science for the past 15 years. I am originally from NY but I headed south after high school to attend college. I am still a New Yorker at heart- especially when it comes to the Knicks and the Yankees:) - but I have grown to love NC. ---
I believe it is important to be involved in my school community because I truly care about my students and want them to be well-rounded. Throughout my career I have served as a step team coach, tennis coach, cheerleading coach and student government adviser. Currently I am the one of the Student Government Advisers and I am also a co-chair for the prom committee.
I am a firm believer that all students can be successful so I work hard to teach the content in a variety of ways. In class we take notes, do lots of labs/hands-on activities, online activities, review games and projects so that students can achieve. We work hard in class, but I try to make sure that we have some fun thrown in the mix to keep students engaged. Please work with me to encourage your child to "hang in there" this school year and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
